Cover Launch: THE WITCH’S KIND by Louisa Morgan

If you loved A SECRET HISTORY OF WITCHES (US | UK), don’t miss Bustle’s cover reveal and exclusive excerpt of the book you’ve been waiting for, THE WITCH’S KIND! (US | UK) Click over for a sneak peek of Louisa Morgan’s absorbing new tale of love, sacrifice, family ties, and magic, set in the Pacific Northwest in the aftermath of World War II.

Barrie Anne Blythe and her aunt Charlotte have always known that the other residents of their small coastal community find them peculiar—two women living alone on the outskirts of town. It is the price of concealing their strange and dangerous family secret.

But two events threaten to upend their lives forever. The first is the arrival of a mysterious abandoned baby with a hint of power like their own. The second is the sudden reappearance of Barrie Anne’s long-lost husband—who is not quite the man she thought she married.

Together, Barrie Anne and Charlotte must decide how far they are willing to go to protect themselves—and the child they think of as their own—from suspicious neighbors, the government, and even their own family…

If you loved Practical Magic, The Witch’s Daughter, or A Discovery of Witches, then The Witch’s Kind will be your new favorite novel. It publishes in Spring 2019, but meanwhile, go say hi to Louisa on Twitter, and if you haven’t tried A Secret History of Witches, pick up that book before The Witch’s Kind drops!

Cover Launch: GRAVE IMPORTANCE by Vivian Shaw

Are you ready for an adventure in the French countryside—one that includes vampires, witches, demons, and one harried but indomitable doctor?

We’re excited to launch the cover of GRAVE IMPORTANCE, the last volume in the Greta Helsing series, Vivian Shaw’s much-loved books about this eminently sensible doctor to the undead and her found family of very polite monsters.

To tell you a bit more about Greta’s further adventures:

Oasis Natrun: a private, exclusive, highly secret luxury health spa for mummies, high in the hills above Marseille, equipped with the very latest in therapeutic innovations both magical and medical. To Dr. Greta Helsing, London’s de facto mummy specialist, it sounds like paradise. But when Greta is invited to spend four months there as the interim clinical director, it isn’t long before she finds herself faced with a medical mystery that will take all her diagnostic skill to solve.

A peculiar complaint is spreading among her mummy patients, one she’s never seen before. With help from her friends and colleagues—including Dr. Faust (yes, that Dr. Faust), remedial psychopomps, a sleepy scribe-god, witches, demons, a British Museum curator, and the inimitable vampyre Sir Francis Varney—Greta must put a stop to this mysterious illness before anybody else crumbles to irreparable dust…

…and before the fabric of reality itself can undergo any more structural damage.

Grave Company hits the shelves in Summer 2019, which gives you just enough time to check out the first two Greta Helsing books, STRANGE PRACTICE (US | UK) and DREADFUL COMPANY (US | UK). If you’ve finished those and can’t wait for your next Greta fix, visit Vivian at her website where she is currently posting a series of hilarious recaps of the vampyre Varney’s original exploits, and on Twitter @ceruleancynic.

A brand new fantasy trilogy by Andrzej Sapkowski, New York Times bestselling author of the Witcher novels!

It’s an abundance of riches for Andrzej Sapkowski fans: Not only are the Witcher books in production with Netflix, but we are delighted to announce that the beloved author is launching a brand new series: The Hussite Trilogy. Taking place during the vibrantly depicted Hussite Wars, the trilogy begins with The Tower of Fools, and follows the epic adventures of Reinmar of Bielau, known as Reynevan, a hero who is forced on the run across a war-shadowed landscape after being caught in an affair with a knight’s wife. He is pursued not only by a pair of brothers bent on vengeance, but also by the Holy Inquisition, while strange, mystical forces gather in the shadows. Fans of Geralt of Rivia will find much to love in Reynevan, and it goes without saying that the books will feature the rich lore and gritty action that have become Sapkowski’s trademarks.

Rights were acquired from Patricia Pasqualini at Patricia Pasqualini Literary Agency. The trilogy will be published by Orbit in the US and Gollancz in the UK and translated by David French, who has worked with Sapkowski on the last six Witcher books.

Andrzej Sapkowski said: ‘The Hussite trilogy is my tour de force. I consider it to be my best work to date. I can’t wait for readers to meet my new hero, Reinmar of Bielau, aka Reynevan, whose adventures take him through a land torn by religious wars. I am thrilled to be working with David French and the energetic Gollancz and Orbit teams again!’

Patricia Pasqualini said: ‘From Poland to the Netflix studios, Sapkowski’s heroes have conquered the hearts of readers everywhere. In the Hussite Trilogy, the hero, Reynevan, is thrown into the whirlpool of History. Readers will love his adventures, which combine fantasy and naughty humour, seriousness and the grotesque, conspiracies and lovable characters. The Witcher saga may be over, but Sapkowski’s devoted fans will find in the Trilogy plenty of adventures to sink their teeth into!’

Andrzej Sapkowski was born in 1948 in Poland. He is now one of Poland’s most famous and successful authors, selling more in his own country than Stephen King or Michael Crichton.

Look for The Tower of Fools in 2020!

Desperate to save them, Omat journeys through the icy wastes, fighting for survival with every step. When she meets a Viking warrior and his strange new gods, together they set in motion a conflict that could shatter her world…or save it.

Cover Launch: JADE WAR by Fonda Lee

Do you feel your jade senses tingling? Are you wondering what surprise the world has in store today?

We’re excited to launch the cover of JADE WAR (US | UK), Fonda Lee’s much-anticipated sequel to the Nebula, Locus, and World Fantasy Award-nominated JADE CITY (US | UK)! In this installment of the Green Bone Saga, the Kaul siblings battle rival clans for honor and for control of the metropolis of Janloon—which you can see in the background of the cover (designed by the fabulous Lisa Marie Pompilio).

To tell you a bit more about what’s in store for the Kauls:

On the island of Kekon, the Kaul family is locked in a violent feud for control of the capital city and the supply of magical jade that endows trained Green Bone warriors with supernatural powers they alone have possessed for hundreds of years.

Beyond Kekon’s borders, war is brewing. Powerful foreign governments and mercenary criminal kingpins alike turn their eyes on the island nation. Jade, Kekon’s most prized resource, could make them rich—or give them the edge they’d need to topple their rivals.

Faced with threats on all sides, the Kaul family is forced to form new and dangerous alliances, confront enemies in the darkest streets and the tallest office towers, and put honor aside in order to do whatever it takes to ensure their own survival—and that of all the Green Bones of Kekon.

Jade War publishes in Summer 2019 and is available for preorder, but in the meantime, go say hi to Fonda at her website and on Twitter @FondaJLee.
