Cover Launch: THE WASTELANDERS by K. S. Merbeth

The post-apocalypse may be dangerous, filled with bloodthirsty bounty hunters, and generally a lawless mess, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. THE WASTELANDERS combines K. S. Merbeth’s wildly over-the-top novels Bite and Raid into one big badass omnibus edition.

This grab-you-by-the-throat cover was designed by Lisa Marie Pompilio and will be on shelves October 16, 2018.

Welcome to the Wasteland, a post-apocalyptic world where lawlessness reigns, and around every bend is another pack of bloodthirsty raiders.

This omnibus edition contains K. S. Merbeth’s two novels Bite and Raid.

Bite

Hungry, thirsty, alone, and out of options, a young girl joins up with outlaws who have big reputations and bigger guns. But as they set out on their journey, she discovers that her new gang may not be the heroes she was hoping for.

Raid

A bounty hunter wakes up bound and gagged in the passenger seat of her own car, and sitting next to her is the most revered and reviled raider king in the eastern wastes. Unable to let him out of her sight, they cross the wasteworld, but a tyrant worse than they could imagine is vying to claim the land as his own.

How do you survive in a world gone mad?

Acquisition Announcement: Megan O’Keefe’s Space Opera

The next big space opera is coming… will you be ready? We’re not one to toot our own horn (okay, maybe a little), but we just can’t be humble about this: Orbit has just acquired a brilliant space opera trilogy by Morningstar award winning author Megan O’Keefe. Think epic space battles, intergalactic politics, and rogue AI with deadly secrets and you’re halfway to figuring out why we love this so much. Here’s a little teaser as to what it’s about:

The last thing Sanda remembers is her gunship breaking up around her as her preserving pod expanded, sealing herself away for salvage-medics to pick up. She expected to awaken in friendly hands, patched up and patched back into a new gunship. Instead, she awakens 230 years later upon an empty enemy smartship, The Light of Berossus or, as he prefers to be called, “Bero”. The war is lost. The star system is dead.

However, Bero may not exactly be telling the whole truth.

Megan O’Keefe’s Orbit debut is scheduled for Summer 2019. But in the meantime, go say hello to Megan on twitter @MeganEOkeefe.

The Conversation

“Only sci-fi can drown Manhattan and make you want to live there.”
Bloomberg Businessweek
